Front bumper paint is flaking off. While still under warranty, dealership would not fix it. Declared that it may be from stones. This truck is garage kept and I don't travel gravel roads. Suspect a primer problem. Dodge on later models added a plastic bumper cover. I wonder why?
When fuel tank is less than 1/2 full and you corner sharply into a parking spot or come to a quick stop and place the vehicle in park, it sometimes shuts off.
Poor mile per gallon, I average only 14-15 in town and 17-22 on the highway.
A truly mid size truck, with decent ride and room. Performance is adequate for the v6 engine. Great styling and appearance.
You're right about the bumper. There is no way stones did it. I have a 98 Dakota 4x4 and it's doing the same thing. I have seen this on other dakotas I've seen too.
You guys are absolutely right about that bumper. My 98 Dakota bumper started rusting and flaking while under warranty and the dealer told me its was stones, so they wanted $400 to re-paint. Funny how the new ones are plastic covered. Incidentally, they don't warranty any rust coming up from under the weatherstripping either.
