1998 Fiat Punto 60 s review from UK and Ireland
"Tough little Fiat"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Leak from roof aerial.
General comments?
This car has character, which is something the likes of the Fiesta, Corsa etc lack.
Handles well, although sometimes ride can be a bit on the firm side.
Seats are comfortable for short journeys, but lack support on longer runs.
I had a little accident in it recently.
Reversed into a metal post coming out of the local Farmfoods shop. There was no damage to the rear, not even a scratch!
This car has been very reliable, have only needed to do basic servicing which is reasonably priced. Although I do not use main dealers.
Fuel consumption is very good unless you have a heavy right foot!
The performance is excellent for a 1.2.
There is lots of room in the cabin, and in the boot, which is suitable for a small family.
Being the basic 's' model it lacks power steering, but this is only a problem whilst parking.
I would not hesitate to recommend this car to anyone, especially to people looking for a small car with character.
