Coffin on wheels

Faults:

Door handle (inside) got loose month after purchase (still waiting replacing under warranty)

Tire blew on motorway because of faulty suspension (after 1 year - dealer did not accept it under warranty)

Wipers faulty from purchasing (Dealer said it is because connections are shaking and are in wet, and we are talking about wipers remember). They were repairing them for two years, and after the warranty expired they said I should buy new wiper engine.

Airbags malfunction.

Bulb malfunction every 3 months.

My clutch literally exploded on motorway (three weeks before I was at dealers and told him that I think something is wrong with it, and they said that everything is OK). They even wanted to charge me repair, but after I said I will sue them, they decided not to.

Air conditioning was repaired three times.

Lots of loose plastic bits.

Car is full of rattling noises.

General Comments:

Most unreliable car I have ever driven.

Too expensive for what it offers.

My Stilo was purchased with 11000 miles on the clock.11 months old. It has suffered with the engine cut out problem suffered by other Stilo owners. It has had this loss of power to engine, brakes and steering on 11 separate occasions- 3 times while in the fast lane of a motorway. The car has been back to the FIAT agents 5 times in the last year with the same complaint. Each time they tell me that it has been rectified. It has spent a total of 24 days in their workshops. Letters to the agent are replied to along the lines that what I have experienced is perfectly normal. I am totally exasperated with this car which is the most unreliable I have ever owned.

2002 Fiat Stilo dynamic 1.6 from Greece

Summary:

Good Value for Money given

Faults:

Airbag unit plug below seat doesn't do contact well popping the air bag warning every so often seems to be common.

Seat Material wearing out quickly.

Overhead coil on top of spark plug broke down early 30,000 klm.

Weird suspension noise in front.

General Comments:

Even though I was plagued with various problems I really love the car it definetly gives you the impression you gave more money than you paid. THe car when travelling on the highway is amazing very comfortable and stable. The only slight thing was the noise the car made at high speeds that I have the amazing sky window version so I guess we can't have everything in life :)

Summary:

Nice drive shame about the build quality

Faults:

Petrol filler flap fell off in my hand.

Car engine fault warning light on and loss of power had to return to the dealership.

Car not very well made tends to be cheap and fall to pieces easily.

General Comments:

I'm happy with the comfort I love driving the car unfortunately its just not reliable enough when it comes to the engine, and bits falling off it! Also costs of servicing are very high.

2002 Fiat Stilo MW Dynamic 1.9 JTD from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Before you put a deposit for another car, check the Stilo. A true bargain!!!

Faults:

Wiper rubber blades needed replacing from new (not really Fiats' fault)

General Comments:

Simply the best car my money could buy, but got a lot more than I bargained for.

It is very quick for a diesel and I know because I used to have a Type-R!!

It just gobbles up rough surfaces and potholes. The quality of the car is exceptional. Very solid.
