2003 Fiat Stilo Active 1.2 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A great car! amazing style, so many bargains to be had!

Faults:

Nothing!!

General Comments:

This is the second car I have owned with the 1st being a N reg citroen AX.

I am very impressed with the car, the equiptment, the performance and the style. I was worried that the car was going to be too big for me (after the tiny AX) but its not! its really nice to drive, so quite, gear changes are great and the sound system is really good! I am very impressed with the car!

I was worried that the 1.2 engine was going to be far to small for the size of the car, but its not! its really quick, I always beat other cars from lights including a TT and a Celica!

Everyone who has seen the car has said how nice it looks and are very impressed - it looks and feels a lot more expensive than it is!

Both insurance and tax are cheap (even know it costs an extra £400 a year more than my AX, which is worth every penny!) - with me being only 19 this is very important. I couldnt say what the car is like with petrol cos I don't really take any notice and just fill it up when the light comes on.

The computer in the car is great and tells you everything you need to know from if the door is open to what the tempature is - I'm still finding little gadgets all the time such as being able to open and close the windows with the remote! (hold down the open or close button on the key!)

I am really happy with this car and very proud of it!!!

Hi,

I currently have an AX for my first car too, and am thinking of getting a Stilo. Do you still have the car, and would you recommend it?

2003 Fiat Stilo Multi Wagon JTD 1.9 JTD from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Not a bad car good to look at poor resale and high service costs get a good discount on new

Faults:

Front near side suspension gave way due to a manufacturing fault.

No other faults apart from bulbs blowing not a real problem until you try and get at them. It took me a whole day to replace one head light bulb,In the end I had to take battery box out. Come on fiat give us some room to fix easy things with out having to go to your dealers.!

General Comments:

You get a lot for your money with a fiat and I am impressed with the overall build quaility good plastics good switches and good quaility fabrics.

However the cost of servicing is more than a shock be ready to part with £330 quid for a 24,000 mile service.

You do get good discounts on new, but you also get a poor resale and this with high services may make you think twice.

Great engine though loads of power great for pulling my caravan.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

2003 Fiat Stilo Dynamic 1.9 JTD from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Excellent value for money

Faults:

Bonnet release catch stuck.

General Comments:

I have had this 1.9 JTD 3 door Stilo for almost 18 months from new and I still think it is great.

The performance is very good, especially considering it is a diesel, although I wouldn't describe it as Fast. It certainly whizzes me up and down the motorway at illegal speeds without any problems.

It is comfortable, and for me has been very reliable. I have had no major problems and, in fact, the only issue that has needed dealing with was a sticking bonnet catch.

I bought the 3 door version, but now I have a new daughter I am almost certainly going to trade it in for a Stilo Multi-wagon. I can't fault the Stilo for value for money.

I have the Fiat Stilo Multiwagon 1.9 JTD 115 2004. I have had a number of problems including:

Failing central locking system locking me in and out of the car. This problem presented itself from new and was sorted out in about 3 return visits to the dealer.

Squeaking steering which required extra lubrication.

And I have been plagued with a problem where the turbo fails in wet weather. I have returned on a number of occasions with no resolution as yet.
