Good job. Compare nicotine addiction to a deliberate decision to remove emissions controls from your vehicle just to get a tiny performance increase (or, in your case, not even), and to hell with laws and keeping the air clean. The rest of your comparisons are not even worth the bother of disputing.

Before you cast stones, are you beyond reproach in all elements of your daily life? Or just a disgruntled motorist. Ever exceed the speed limit? Arrive late to work, call in sick when not or take too long of a break? Do in your own mind what you think is right. If something is legal (even pot in a state) let it go. We are not breaking emission laws where there are not any. My dad often said if people could mind their own business, they would be busy all the time. Quoting statistics off internet that we can all easily read by our specific state is easily done. It’s like reading Cliff notes; we already have info...

Well said. And I get what the post at 17:50 is saying, but I think some people have been listening to Greta Thunberg or whatever her name is too much. Climate change is real, but scientists cannot agree on exactly how much damage is done, or how severe. So no need to panic.

As for cars (which are not the only pollutants, but always an easy target for environmentalists) I think the future is bright anyway - Take Tesla for example. The Model S been out since 2012. The future is here. Fast and good range and mileage. Good looking too, unlike earlier electric cars. Another 10 years or so cars like that will be common place. Or at least hybrids of some sort. We will meet targets for 0 emissions or close to it. And there will of course still be fuel sold for older cars (oil companies are going nowhere) as enthusiasts will have lots of them - and only used as second cars, not everyday.

So you really believe that it is OK to remove or alter government mandated emission equipment just because your jurisdiction does not have vehicle emission inspections?

No, just that you are less likely to suffer any consequences for doing it. Unlike the rest of us, unfortunately. And yes, the air that we all have to breathe and which you pollute IS my business!

You are not a patrol officer. People on this forum are going to do the following... Buy what they like, do what they like. They are adults. Your tone is pretty hard core. Lastly there’s no accountability to you. They may be issued a citation where the laws apply. The rulings and jurisdictions differ in many states. This forum is an exchange of free ideas. Not preaching. Doing that, no one will listen to a complete stranger. You can indicate you do not like something or disagree. Then the readers can read it or skip over your comment. This is just a forum to review cars. It’s not building friendships or relationships. It’s anonymous. In many ways that's great. It’s information gathering, not an anger management group.
