1986 Ford Crown Victoria LX Station Wagon from North America - Comments

"Family wants for nothing"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Dual exhaust recently rusted out and had to be replaced from catalytic converters back.

Power locks don't work in rear doors.

Rust starting under rocker panels.

Bad oil leak from valve gaskets.

Fuel gauge is spotty.

General comments?

This is a great family car.

The engine has plenty of get-up-and-go, and enough room for three kids, two dogs and all the accompanying luggage.

We're nearing 240,000 miles and looking for another 1986 wagon to stablemate with this one.

I have a 1986 crown vic wagon with the 114" wheel base

it has a 5.0 engine with automatic and has lots of power

i recently put $3000 into it for mechanical repairs including rebuilt driveshaft and rear pinion and seals

new exhaust (single style) from manifolds back, all new sensors, new distributor, new timing chain, new waterpump and thermostat, new heater core, 4 new injectors, used upper intake, full tune up, all new brakes including new lines, hoses, calipers, rotors in front, new master cylnder

new fuel return line front to back.

It runs great I am looking to get what I put into it back, it needs some body work and paint and has rip in front seat and the infamouse crown vic cracked dash pad

this car has no power options, but does have AC tilt and cruise.
