The person who couldn't figure out his left signal light being constantly on. I am told that was an option on those cars just to indicate which side that your gas filler is on. I've seen that on 3 or 4 fords in my day. John.

I recently bought a LTD for 300 dollars it did not run when I bought it, but a couple of hours,8 new spark plugs, new alternator, battery, 6 quarts of oil, and a fan belt later it runs great future plans are installing a Edelbrock performance 4v intake manifold and Edelbrock 4 barrel performance carburetor. Also in the works is a Crane Powermax Cam and a new Auto Meter Gauge Cluster for my speedometer, tachometer, and fule to air ratio, but overall it is a good car, for the price.

My 77 LTD II's turn signal illuminates as well. BUt the fuel tank is on the left, and the right one comes on.

I just purchased a 1978 LTD Country Squire, today, for 200 bucks! Actually, the guy let me pay 100, and take it home, and I'll pay the other 100 in 2 weeks. The car is in amazing condition, the interior is astounding, except for the carpet, and the armrests... all of em. 1 is completely missing, but the seats are perfect, except for 1 rip on the drivers seat, and the vinyl headliner is immaculate. It has a 351M and, although it's a little shaky, it runs. Outside is decent, except for the right rear, where it looks as if someone forgot they were in a behemoth. No rust!! Any help in where I can get a panel for the rear would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris kornnutz1965@yahoo.com.

I had a car I think is was my ltd when the light stayed on it meant that a bulb was burned out. Because that fixed my problem.

I had a 1977 Ford LTD Country Squire wagon with the left and right signal on the dash would dim a bit, even if the "blinker" wasn't on. What I found, it was my front bulb sockets for the signal bulbs. There was a lot of corrosion inside, making a weak ground for it. I went to NAPA and got new sockets and the "dim" signals went away. Hope this helps.

To the guy with the blinker problem.. I have a 77 Ltd Landau 4 door in storage with 73000 miles... it was the cornering lamp with a bad socket that caused the steady turn signal light to glow.. check your lights and the sockets.. especially in the front areas, depending on what side it is on!

I have a 1977 LTD Ford station wagon, which I bought brand new in 1977. It is jade green and is still gorgeous. I drive it all the time, but I cannot get the air conditioner to work. You can hear the motor running, but it barely and I mean barely, blows any air. Does anyone know where the fan for the air conditioner might be?

Completely wrong. There was a option back then called a "Fuel Pacer" system which would light your left fender mounted turn signal indicator when you were hitting the accelerator pedal too hard (triggered by low engine vacuum) and thus getting less MPGs. But it was on Mopars, not Fords, and nothing to do with what side your gas filler cap was on!
