1990 Ford Mustang LX HO 5.0 from North America

Summary:

Unbelievable reliability and extreme performance

Faults:

I have only broken the clutch quadrant.

General Comments:

This was the car I wanted since I was about 10 years old.

The first car I drove (mom's car) was a 1997 Camaro Z28.

This car doesn't handle quite as well as the f-bodies, but it will take them in a straight line with a couple bolt-ons.

I drive this car hard, and I've only broken the clutch quadrant because it is made out of plastic. I replaced it with a aluminum one though.

The only drawback I see from the legendary fox body mustang is the replacing of the rear tires every 10,000 miles, or less. :)

1990 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 from North America

Summary:

This little mean machine is awsome

Faults:

This car is awesome its truly a sports car and is very reliable.

General Comments:

This car is very fun to drive and always gets lots of attention. Most imports will hesitate to race me. The car is so fast that when it rains it can be deadly! I would not recommend this car to a teenager can be a lethal weapon. The car is not very comfortable and space is very limited.

1990 Ford Mustang GT Hatch 5.0 from North America

Summary:

An American Legend

Faults:

No problems at all.

General Comments:

With only 3,453 mile on the odometer, this GT is flawless with everything original except the battery. The tires are original and in excellent condition. I did change the thermostat and replace the bypass hose. She is garaged, covered, and taken out only on sunny days, early when there's no traffic, and driven at least 15 miles on the freeway. Oil and filter is changed every 3 months and the leather seats are conditioned with leather balm. The radiator is flushed with distilled water and replaced with a mix of anti-freeze and distilled water once a year. The white GT hatch shares the garage with her sole mate, a 67 white coupe with 82,000 miles on the odometer and also original right down to her Ford Diamond Luster factory paint and factory air. They are both showed in the unrestored class and have never taken less than first place. I hadn't planned to baby the 90 GT. as the 67 was the show stopper, however things happen and you just get attached to them and a short drive now and then is just fine. They are just great to look at parked side by side.

I absolutely agree with you, the Mustang is now and always will be an American legend. Between the 1990 and the 1967, without a doubt the 67 is the more classic of them, however they are both pretty sweet cars. The only thing is when looking for a mustang be VERY sure that the car is in good condition. People love to beat on these things. or at least that's been my experience.

I used to like the newer 94+ style mustang's looks, but after seeing those 87-93 style up close and after driving it my mind is changed and I like that style almost better than the oldies from the late 60s. You got some nice cars, take care of them.

1990 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 from North America

Summary:

A great car, solid construction, a real sport s car

Faults:

Nothing out of the ordinary:

Replaced stock t-5 transmisiln at 78000 miles.

Checked/replaced head gaskets, intake gaskets, and exhaust gaskets at 85000 miles.

New starter and alternator at 90000 miles.

Not the most comfortable car on a long trip (over 3 hours).

Can't fit an infant carrier in the back seat.

General Comments:

Great car to play around with on weekends.

Tons of aftermarket goodies to make it really fast.

Love the feeling of being able to pass 98% of everything else on the road (kinda makes you forget about the not so comfortable seats on those long trips).

Sometimes you just gotta roll down the windows and listen to that throaty dual exhaust.

Is this the LX or the LX 5.0 or the GT? The regualr LX's had a 130 lbs/foot tourque engine. Can that really pass 98 percent of things on the road?

Um, the post says "5.0" right under the title on the list page.

You'd have thought the "tons of aftermarket parts" or "throaty dual exhaust" would have clued them into the fact that this isn't a 4 banger Mustang...
