1999 Ford Mustang Coupe 6 cylinder. from North America

Summary:

If you can find a pampered used one go for it!!

Faults:

Had to replace front rotors. That's it so far!!!

General Comments:

Good reliable trans. so far!! Peppy for a 6 banger. Interior kinda cheap. But hey, its not a Town car!!

1999 Ford Mustang Coupe 3.8 Liter V6 from North America

Summary:

A better looking Taurus..

Faults:

Driver's side seatbelt tightened up where it was hard to pull. Dealer replaced without a charge.

Transmission shifts hard into first when coming to a stop.

Parking brake sometimes pulls up all the way without applying the brakes. Has released by itself once.

Anti-theft system once disabled the ignition even with the right keys. Couldn't start it. Used the remote to lock and unlock the doors and it magically came back.

General Comments:

Awesome looks, but with the automatic and V6 it is just adequate.

Good on gas, great highway car, very solid.

Poor on slalom and curvy roads. Seats are not supportive in the twisties. Front heavy and feels lumbering. Factory Eagle GA's are garbage.

Decent quality overall, but a what a cheap interior.

Buy the GT, because you will eventually want the better suspension and the power.

1999 Ford Mustang Base V6 Automatic from North America

Summary:

Great first car

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with the car so far.

My only complaint is that the back seat is too small, but no one gets a Mustang to carry people.

General Comments:

This being my first car was a godsend. It is ridiculous for a 16 year-old to have a Mustang, but I have the coolest parents ever.

The looks of the car are wonderful and it get plenty of looks.

There is that certain "Mustang mystique" and it feels great to look out and see it in the driveway.

Be prepared for some criticism if you don't get the V8, but just tell them to pay your insurance.

There are some people who simply are in love with Mustangs and there are those who simply hate them, there is no middle ground.

Not to sound rude or anything, but a lot of 16 year olds at my school have mustangs.. v6 mustangs are very cheap (price).. I know v8s are expensive on insurance.. I've checked it out, but I don't think it's anything special having a v6 mustang since everyone has one.

Way cool man, my first car was a 99 Grand Jeep Cherokee Limited V8 and I was 16. The gas was awful! The v6 is perfect for you. I'm getting a Mustang myself now, crashed my cherokee and am now driving a Daewoo, now That's a car you Don't wanna drive at any age. You're really lucky to have that Mustang man, enjoy it!

1999 Ford Mustang from North America

Faults:

My car makes a rattling noise when I accelerate. But I can't hear it with the music loud.

1999 Ford Mustang Coupe 3.8 from North America

Summary:

If I could afford to set it on fire I would

Faults:

My air conditioning leaks on the carpet and into the glove box.

The windows do not properly seal therefore water leaks into the car.

The side vent scoops are cheap. They have warped and are falling off.

Several spots of clear coat is peeling.

The paint has separated from sheet metal in hidden spots.

Most of the lights have vapor inside and are partially filled with water.

The transmission is already needing a rebuild.

The compact disk player freezes.

General Comments:

The car handles well.

The car does have good performance.

The car was poorly designed.

It is an outrageous amount of money for the poor quality.

I recently bought a 2003 Chevy s-10 for my wife and I am very pleased with the quality. Maybe Ford has gone way downhill.
