1988 Ford Mustang LX review from North America
"An OK car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Bad power steering pump.
Oil leaks from the cylinders.
Rear right speaker channel fried.
Fan sensor malfunctioned, had to rewire it so it was always on.
Broken Fuel Gauge.
Broken A/C.
Accelerator would sometimes stick when floored, had to replace.
Trunk will not stay up.
Muffler rusted out, replaced.
Timing belt jumped, had to replace.
General comments?
Engine accelerates very slow, espacially with the automatic.
Still pretty fast for a 4 cylinder.
Really good gas mileage.
Comfortable seats.
Needs a new quart of oil every 3 months.
Engine starts right up in any weather.
I do not know the miles because when I acquired the car the engine was rebuilt and someone messed with the odometer.
Overall, the car is fairly decent, although some annoying think goes wrong from time to time.
