1995 Ford Taurus SE review from North America
"Very good car, walked into more problems then originally thought though"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Car was stored in a barn for about 2-3 years before purchase.
Right after purchase:
Needed Muffler
Needed Tune-up bad
Needed rear suspension replaced
Needed new brakes all around
Needed new radiator
Headliner ripped, driver seat worn.
After 2 years of owning this car it has needed:
New rear brake lines
New muffler/flex pipe
New motor/trans mounts
New A/C wiring due to motor mounts
New Power steering Pump
New Tensioner/Fan belt.
General comments?
Again I bought the car knowing I had some problems, later found out that it was abused and improperly stored so it has had more problems than originally thought. however this car drives extremely well for having 115K on it, and the steering was very tight at purchase, and after the new P/S Pump, it got tighter and handles very very well for a 12 year old mid-size sedan. The driver seat, even though warn, is still extremely comfortable. The lumbar support and power seat works flawlessly. This car had only stranded me once and that was because the rear brake lines blew, which was due to the car sitting for as long as it did before purchase.
