1997 Geo Prizm review from North America
"Great value"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
- Fuel efficiency light came on around 75,000 miles. Mechanic hooked it up to computer and found that two EGR sensors needed to be replace. Cost about $500.
- Tires needed to be replaced at 55,000, but that's to be expected.
- Cup holder under stereo broke and fell out.
General comments?
Overall, this car has had very little wrong with it in the six years I've owned it and it's very fuel efficient -- a blessing as gas prices soar. It's not the most sexy or powerful car or the best to steer, but I bought this car for reliability and it's delivered. I feel like I could easily get another 80,000 miles out of this car.
The fuel efficiency light problem was a minor headache. The mechanic had to hook it up to a computer, which cost $80 in itself. But over six years of ownership, one medium-sized repair isn't that big of deal.
