1996 Geo Tracker 4wd 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

A good car for a little price

Faults:

Nothing, except for the air switch where you run the air conditioner. I haven't got it fixed yet, but it still runs on halfway. Runs great, I love it.

General Comments:

It's not a fast car, but is very reliable and good in bad weather with the 4wd. I've had no problems. I just don't like the sound of the road because it's bumpy and the convertible top is noisy in really hard winds on the road.

1996 Geo Tracker 4x4 Convertible 1.6 from North America

Summary:

I love my Tracker!

Faults:

1 Clutch cable snapped. I assume this is because of many hours of in city driving. Lots of starting and stopping. Low beam lamps often went bad due to the day time running lamps. Long life bulbs seem to offset this. My 4 wheel drive does not work this year. Awesome car for five years...6th year...I can live with a repair finally.

General Comments:

I have driven this tracker on 30 different long trips up mountains, on highways and state to state. This model has the get up and go needed for all types of trips. Very economical mileage!

The 4x4 makes this an awesome winter weather choice!

The convertible top is awesome in the summer. Very easy to put back up or you can just use the sun roof. Drop the back window or take out the sides. Numerous configurations! Very warm even in the winter.

This car definitely enhances mood on a nice summer day! A+++++

1996 Geo Tracker 4X2 5 speed 1.6 from North America

Summary:

Great bang for your buck!

Faults:

The zippers are very week I am not impressed with their setup, went out and bought a hard top the first week I owned the car, but will put the soft top on again in the summer.

-Stalls at low idle on weird occasions?

General Comments:

Unexpectedly peepy, hole new world with a hard top. I would strongly suggest getting a two piece hard top for this car if you can get your hands on one.

I swear it still has the original tires on it with 72500 miles due to its light nature.

1996 Geo Tracker 4 door 4 wheel drive 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

I wish I could have bought it when it was brand new.

Faults:

Check Engine light is on, but still runs fine.

Air Conditioner leaks on passenger front floor sometimes.

Shifter won't engage first thing in the morning when depressing the brake.

#3 Spark Plug problem when first purchased the vehicle.

General Comments:

My friends comment that if this vehicle is still running and driving after me being behind the wheel, it's worth getting another one.

This vehicle has gotten me from point A to B with a few side trips to C.

1996 Geo Tracker Convertible 1.6L from North America

Summary:

The perfect little rig for me

Faults:

Broken snap on top roll bar for convertible top.

Possible fuel system problem right now. We are just taking to garage because we can't figure out what the problem is.

Tick, tick, tick noise coming from odometer area. Possible speedometer cable going out.

General Comments:

This is my second Geo Tracker.

I love them and hated to see the new Chevy version of them. I think they did an injustice to the Tracker and I will not buy another one because of the new look. I love the old look.

All though it is a convertible I stay way warm with the great heater it has. works better and faster than the one in my Dodge Ram.

I love being able to fold the back seat up and have some cargo room. My daughter also loves to ride back there to sleep when we go on trips.

I love being able to parallel park and turn around just about anywhere easily.

I have a wave-runner and my daughter and I go to the river a lot. The tracker pulls it just fine. Don't even have to use the 4 wheel drive to pull it up the steep inclines. My daughter calls it a jeepwater.

I just wish I could put a lift on it. Then my tracker would be my perfect little car.
