1989 Honda Accord LX 2.0 from North America

Summary:

If I could, I would buy another one

Faults:

Not very much has gone wrong with my car, but I have had bad luck with it.

My tranny blew on me at roughly 280000km.

My clutch also went on me about 5 months ago.

My ball joint is about to fall off and my brakes are done.

It burns oil slightly, maybe one quart per week.

I have holes in the floor and the body rusts easily.

General Comments:

First, I am an 18 year old male with a heavy foot.

All the problems encountered above are probably explained by the burn outs and showing off.

I think that the cost was relatively cheap for the amount of driving and stupidities I have done.

Great, reliable car.

I love it and would recommend it to anyone.

A Ride You won't forget. Truly. I loved It

Faults:

Clutch release bearing seized at 2500000km I was surprised it was the 1st clutch change.

Cv joints.

Front spring.

Some front susp bushings.

Fuel pump relay.

General Comments:

The best car I've ever had though I had newer cars, it was the best handling car and my favourite.

It was an European version with B20A8 engine 133 HP 16v 2liter.

1989 Honda Accord SE 2 litre from North America

Summary:

This has been a truly great car that I would love to restore to its original quality

Faults:

Air conditioning compressor at 310000 km

Sun roof leak sporadically always

Alternator at 290000 km

Water pump at 240000 km

Leather seats worn through at 280000 km

Temperature control unit at 360000 km

Exhaust system every 3 to 4 years

Front coil springs break on average one every 3 years.

General Comments:

This car has always been sporty and fun to drive.

As you can see from the list of things that have gone wrong, the car was very reliable. Still has original paint job. Engine, and transmission still perform very well!

Leather seats, leather trim, a Honda-Bose stereo system, Mag wheels, sun roof deflector, etc made this an attractive car.

I would have driven it for another three years if it had not been T-boned at an intersection.

1989 Honda Accord LX 2.0 from North America

Summary:

A long lasting vehicle

Faults:

My oil pan leaks a bit. The radio makes a weird noise every time I turn it on. The rear window defroster is not working at all.

General Comments:

I have used and abused this car and it still runs perfectly fine. For the age of the car it can still pick up speed and go over 100 Mph. The car engine looks like it's brand new, but it's the same engine that has been in the car ever since it came out in 1989. Everything that is an essential in the car that I need works perfectly fine. The paint is brand new, but the clear gloss on the bumpers are coming off.

Only cost me $900.

1989 Honda Accord LX 2.0 bbl from North America

Summary:

An affordable, quality car

Faults:

I had to replace the master cylinder at 161,000.

At about 165,000, I had to replace the heater core. This was a pain in the neck because I chose to do it myself. However, had I paid someone else to do it, it would have been quite expensive. It was worth it to me.

Other that that, nothing major.

General Comments:

First of all, I deliver pizzas, so I drive the car anywhere from 100-175 miles a day. I have had enough constant road time to say that this is the most dependable car I have ever driven.

The only things I have noticed is that, due to my job, routine things seem to roll around more often. For example oil, brake pads and all of the other "dummy" type of things.

For its moderate 2.0 bbl engine, this car has some serious "get up and go"! She is a 5 speed manual, and from the first time that I drove her, I loved how peppy she is.

The Gas mileage is also great. I usually average 32-36 mpg on regular, which I am very happy with.

For the price, you can't beat it. It is a great first, second, or third car! Over all, I love this Car!
