Needs Thicker Brake Rotors because they warp to easy under heavy braking.
This is a great car.
Car is very quick and handles good.
I would recommend this car to anyone. I drive this car like a race car 24/7, the only thing that has ever happen to this car is the brake rotors warped. Since I have installed high performance rotors that problem is now solved. This is truly a solid car at a great value. Good Job Honda.
I am considering very seriously, buying a 1998 honda accord dx-v6. It has a lot of miles...170,000 to be exact. Would this scare any other Honda owners?

We have 120000km.
So far... it has had some minor problems...
We put less than 3000$ cnd and we own it since 1999.
The biggest problem we had was the tranny, we replaced it before death... but I will accuse my brother driving it being the problem... he goes normal... the FLOORS it... then normal then FLOORS it for no reason... (he dosent know how to properly drive fast)
Low mileage yes... but its all city.
However... I know that honda's best engins are the inline4's.
The 3.0V6 is one fantastic V6... but not the best one...
Also, honda have long lasting tranny's... not the best ones with their clacking when you swich reverse to drive... but they last... unlike cough CRISLER!
For the high mileage that your car has... it depends on too many factors.
If someone who was between 17 to 26 owned it... don't buy
if it was an old geezer... buy.
Highway or city...
With that much mileage... its unpredictable.
It is VERY quick.
In fact, a quick spin last summer gave me an idea of how quick it really was. My friend allowed me to drive his with an intake on it.
Everything is perfect about it, especially the driving position. I floored it down this one street and before I knew it, I was going close to 70mph. I remember feeling my heart beat faster as I glanced at the speedo!
It is the PRIMAL reason I own a 2000 Accord V6 coupe today! VTEC will take you by surprise!!
Fortunately, there aren't many people who realize how fast the V6 Accord is; it is SUCH a sleeper! A lot of people will dismiss it as "it's a family car" until you are at wide open throttle and realize all 6 cylinders and 24 valves calling 200 horses is at the edge of your right foot.
Bought one new in spring of '98. It's an absolute dream. Fast (~130 mph) comfortable and fun to drive. It's got about 70k miles and I figure at this rate it will last another 10 years easy.
