"Best buy in the Mini-SUV class"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

General comments?

Honda CRV gives you many extras for the price, in comparison to "add-ons" with most other brands.

Almost everything is standard.

They are always making changes in response to owner feedback.

We like this Mini-SUV a lot.

Higher ground clearance and more room than "Cars".

But still good gas mileage and reasonable power.

My wife gets 25 MPG driving around the county.

And even better (27 MPG) on the highway.

We both think it handles great.

This FWD vehicle handles most all beat-up highway stuff, but I don't think it is really a true "off-road" vehicle.

So, the spare tire outside on the back is more for image than anything else.

Some may consider this a negative.

Also, the seats are a little bit hard.

21,000 miles now, no problems at all.

Agree wife has 2001 and loves it. No problems at 24000 miles. Regular scheduled maintenance done on time.

Not a mans type 4X4 but great for ladies and light 4 wheel use. Snow and not too rough of off terrain are fine.

Honda builds them right; a great little SUV.

CB.

2001 Honda CRV AWD.

A very well made and practical vehicle, it is also reasonably frugal, and is confidence-inspiring in the snow. Easy to drive and roomy, its only real drawbacks are noisiness at highway speeds and the fiddly oil dipstick. With the 5 speed manual transmission -- a smooth unit -- its everyday performance is quite adequate. All told, this is a quality vehicle that is satisfying to own, inexpensive to run, and very reliable.

I have a 2001 CRV AWD which I really don't like. I would trade it in, but I travel so much I am up side down. My car's mileage is 98,6000 and I bought it new. The car has lots of road noise. The seats are very uncomfortable. The windows won't stay on track. The differentials need oiled. A new timing belt needed at 100,000 miles. I think I made the wrong SUV choice for me. The CRV doesn't seem to be holding any value. My friends that own a CRV seem to agree this just isn't what we expected from this car.
