Transmission replaced at 112000 miles.
Catalytic converter replaced 2 weeks later.
EGR valve now needs replacing at 117000---for the second time.
Check engine light comes on every two weeks now. It's a different problem every time.
Brakes have to be repaired often.
Manual side doors are a problem. Right one replaced at 65000 miles. Left one will need replacing soon.
Great for hauling a large family on long trips until this summer.
Fairly fuel efficient on the interstates.
No reason to not buy another Honda. At least they re designed the Ody and now it does not eat trannys and stuff like that. Poor Honda and trying to build its first big vehicle (CRV and 94-98 Ody don't count) ; least we know that they have learned their lesson on what kind of Tranny to use when mated to a powerful V6. Some day the Ody will be as reliable as the Civic or Accord, and with the 2005-2009 Ody they are getting closer. It would seem more troublesome if this were a GM or Chrysler van, since the design cycles can last almost 1 decade.
Our Family Owns a Honda CRV, 2003 model we bought with 7 miles. Now it has 29K. Anyways, it's a vehicle that you feel safe in and great in weather conditions. I drove in a pretty bad snow Storm to Chicago, and it handled like a tank. The CRV is a vehicle that has to grow on you. Overall great investment.
