2005 Hyundai Elantra GLS review from North America
"Hyundai is no longer the company to avoid"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Passenger side air-bag sensor is faulty at times. It's supposed to sense when someone is in the passenger seat and activate the airbag (it's off when the seat is vacant), but at times this is not the case. There's a recall on it. Until it's service, the passenger just maneuvers in the seat until the light goes off.
Rear right tire had an air leak from the day we got it. Replaced with no problem.
General comments?
The steering feels solid.
All the controls in the vehicle appear to be durable.
Side air bags are a nice safety feature in a car so small..
Operating the sunroof is a breeze.
The CD stereo system along with the 6 speakers are great. Great bass and high frequencies (treble).
The chirp the car makes when the doors are locked with the key less remote sounds cheesy. You don't even want to hear it when the panic button is pressed.
The seats are very firm yet comfortable.
Great handling.
