I have the same problem with my 1994 Infiniti J30. Did you get yours fix? If so, did it cost a lot?

Annette.

1994 Infiniti J30 Standard 3.0 from North America

Summary:

A very classy, low maintenance cream puff

Faults:

I needed to get one of the rear window motors replaced. The sunroof does not open without help, but it does tilt. I do have some wear marks on the leather and the driver door. Occasionally, the CD decides is does not want a particular CD. This is funny because it may play fine on other players, but once the Bose system doesn't like it, forget it. The only other thing is that I can't find good wipers and I refuse to pay dealer cost. I can only be pushed so far.

General Comments:

I still love this car and I bought it new. Or, rather I leased it and then bought out the lease at the end. When I first got it, I didn't even drive the speed limit because I was having so much fun. I have put relatively little money into this car compared to owning it for 9 years and the pleasure I get driving it. I hope every one is so lucky. I just now replaced the brakes for the first time and got a tune-up (63k). I have always used Mobil-1 oil, it has never known any other kind and I change it at no more that 4k. Performance is not spectacular, but most buyers would know that. It can get up and go, but I have to push the pedal pretty hard. Handling is OK, but the car is a little heavy, but again, this is not a Porsche. Bottom line is that it is a very classy, low maintenance cream puff and I have been happy overall. I got my eye on the FX though!

1994 Infiniti J30 from North America

Summary:

Dream luxury car for dry road condition

Faults:

I have a 94 j30. After driving 1,400 miles I parked the car and I was unable to restart the car. I took it to a local mechanic and he said fuel pump had to be replaced. He replaced it. While I was driving home from his repair shop I noticed a yellow light suddenly lit up with the a symbol of an engine says "check". Is it because the mechanic left some connection unconnected or a warning for some horrible and expensive repair work? I so worried after spending $395.00 for the fuel pump today. Please advise me.

General Comments:

I love my j30 even though I had some life threatening experiences while I was driving in snow. Besides the skidding nature of its real wheel drive axle, during slippery road condition, it has so many marvelous pluses. Its high rear wheel power contributes to those dangerous slipping, I guess.

1994 Infiniti J30 t 3.0 liter V6 from North America

Summary:

A great car

Faults:

When I first got the car, the only problem that was wrong were my brakes. I noticed that when I tapped on the brakes, the steering wheel would vibrate rapidly. I ended up having to replace my rotors, calipers, and pads. It cost me close to one thousand dollars.

Many of the electrical components of the car are having trouble also. My CD and cassette player are both not working, and one of my speakers in the back is out. Replace the entire system would cost less than getting original factory part for the sound system. My sunroof isn't working properly, sometimes it won't shut.

General Comments:

The car drives great, the interior is great. Driving is blast with this car. It's got lots of power, dependability, and stability.

I suggest that if you buy this car used, make sure you get every thing checked out before making the purchase.

I believe if you get the car in good condition, and keep up with the factory suggested maintenance the car will run for a very long time.
