1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V8 316 from North America

Summary:

It's a great car

Faults:

My service four wheel drive light comes on. It runs great and there's nothing wrong with it. I had my transfer cases looked at, and they are good. I think it's a bad sensor, and I just might unplug it because the Jeep runs great.

I wouldn't get another car. It takes where I need to go, on and of the road. It's a monster.

It also said service 4wheel drive. Just a regular maintenance thing.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 5.2L V8 from North America

Summary:

Fun, comfortable, capable, reliable, cheap 4x4

Faults:

- Radiator replaced.

- Air conditioner started leaking on passenger floor (fixed with a rubber hose $3).

General Comments:

- Drives awesome, it has many amenities, comfortable, space for everything and more.

- V8 is crazy powerful for the weight of this 4x4, reliable, and gets decent mileage. I get about 18mpg normal driving and about 20 on the highway.

- Comfortable in long rides and the coil suspension is marvelous off-road, mine came with the factory towing package, which includes heavy duty engine coolant radiator, heavy duty engine oil cooler and transmission oil cooler, 2" hitch, power plug, Dana 44 rear axle and 6500lbs of towing capacity.

- I think I'm keeping this car for a long time, but also would like to try the Limited or Orvis editions, which have more toys.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 l6 from North America

Summary:

Like a Energizer Bunny, it just keeps going and going

Faults:

Tranny, water pump, battery, alternator, starter shocks, rotors, tires, ball joints, bad radiator, noise coming from rear end.

Engine was never touched.

General Comments:

We sold this jeep with 190,000 miles, and the only major thing we did to it was a rebuilt tranny at 160,000 miles.

It was kept in a heated garage ever since we bought it new. It has cosmetic rust on the frame, but a very small amount.

The oil was changed every 3,000 miles and other regular maintenance. The guy that bought it now has 208,000 miles on it, still running good. I wish I wouldn't have sold it. BEST JEEP I EVER OWNED.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 from North America

Summary:

I love this car and would buy another in an instant

Faults:

Sensor at 100,000 miles.

Replaced the water pump twice, last time at 275,000 miles.

Starter once at 160,000 miles.

She has a few parking lot dents, but the interior is still intact and beautiful except for the drivers side carpet.

The cassette player no longer works, and the AC went out at 300,00 miles.

Rear hatch does not stay up, and the rear drivers side door is frozen and has not opened in 8 years.

General Comments:

Very dependable SUV, I have owned it for 13 years and will buy another one when this one finally wears out. Hope to make it at least to 500,000 miles.

By the way, this car was purchased in SC and is a two wheel drive, not a 4 wheel drive. I love this car!!

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD 5.2 from North America

Summary:

I have an 85 Grand Wagoneer - the reliability is 100x than this Grand Cherokee LTD

Faults:

Steering gear bolts broke; lost steering - lucky it happened in parking lot. The bolts are too small, low grade and only 3 (should be 4 bolts); this is a cheap design but a human endangerment issue.

Engine head gaskets blew: engine block head surface had defect; quality issue at the factory. They shipped the jeep anyway.

Engine overheats; still trying to fix this problem; tried several thermostats.

AC refrigerant has multiple leaks.

Driver side door switch for alarm system defective.

Fuel pump relay defective (possibly underrated).

Door lock switch passenger side inoperative.

Driver seat controls inoperative.

Radio/CD inoperative most of the time.

General Comments:

Small SUV - looks good.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited 4.0 from North America

Summary:

I think it is a very good vehicle

Faults:

It already had the leak in the manifold and a couple of leaks along the pipes and cat. converter when I purchased it. I have replaced the manifold and cat. conv. and patched the holes, but I keep finding new holes so next week I am having the muffler and pipes replaced.

The radio was screwing up of course so I replaced it with an after market deck and added subs with an amp. The factory speakers sound pretty rough so I guess they are blown.

The hatch won't open now and the shop wants $150.00 to open it and replace the 50 cent part that they believe is causing the problem. Not going to happen. I will cut a section of panel off, make the repair, and fabricate a replacement for the section of the panel that will be missing.

I had a very slow oil leak that was repaired. No big deal.

I put 31.5 cooper svt tires on it and they really seem to make the jeep look perfect.

General Comments:

The only gripe I have with my Cherokee is that the motor is pretty loud and when idling the entire truck vibrates. Overall I absolutely love my jeep. It has never left me stranded and I believe it will run strong for at least another 100,000 miles.
