1996 Lexus LS 400 4.0 Liter from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Luxury, comfort and clout if required. Buy one!

Faults:

Light behind the radio display. Needed a new circuit! Cost £240.00 but was under warranty!

General Comments:

This is really the most comfortable car I have ever driven. The spec. is just superb. You get so much for your money, it leaves Mercs and BMW's way behind.

I have tried to start the engine twice when it was already running! It is that quiet!

1996 Lexus LS 400 V8 from North America

Faults:

The readout on the radio dial went goofy once in a while.

The dealer replaced the whole radio under warranty.

Other than that, this is the most wonderful automobile I have ever owned.

Fast, Luxurious, Beautiful.

General Comments:

What a great automobile.

A bit expensive, but you get your money's worth.

I agree with you 100%. As a Toyota/Lexus owner (6 Toyotas, 2 Lexus) I totally have to say nothing beats my car. The LS400 ('91) is totally trouble free. We decide to go with the GS400 and not the LS400 in 1998 when buying a new car. We were waiting for the new generation LS and the new LS430 is even better.

So far the GS has been as worry free as the LS so when the new LS430 arrives, we are hoping for it to be as trouble free as the rest of the Toyota/Lexus cars. We were a little afraid with the GS because it was the first year, but to our surprise, it's at least every bit as good as the LS so we are able to rest assured that the new LS430 will be too.

The Lexus were different cause we were Audi, M-B and BMW owners and so when we bought our 1986 Toyota Cressida, we were surprised how good it was and how trouble free it was, so we went on and bought 1989 Cressida and it was the same, just perfect.

After 1992, Toyota had stop sending the Cressida to the USA so we thought we would give Lexus a try, after all at $38000.00 base it is way cheaper than what we were used to with the German cars. Even though that is way higher then what we were used to (also had a '83 Corolla, '87 Tercel, '89 & '94 Camry along with the 2 Cressida), but it was worth every penny we spent on it.

Can't think of anything better to buy. Was too bad that Lexus did not come out with an SUV sooner, we also have a Infiniti QX4 (it's also trouble free), but wish we had a RX300.

Thank you for taking the time to read this comment.

I couldn't agree with you any more, I recently took a 91 Lexus LS400 for a test drive and was so impressed that I am trying to get a loan to pay the low price of $9990. This car pleases and teases!

The car was in mint condition, the AC felt like a hurricane (I mean this in a good way) compared to my lousy, crappy '86 Olds 98. This car impressed my senses and desires, the car got up and MOVED on demand!

The radio, controls and dash instruments are soothing and comforting to the eye. This car is definitely eye candy.

The smooth 4.0 V-8 superiorly outweighed my 3.8 V-6.

The only bad thing, is that when people see an 18 year old male in what was once a 40K $ car, they get very jealous, hostile, and aggressive to race you (despite the fact that I smoked a Crown Vic. and a F-250, believe me, they asked for it!).

I am scared about theft because this car is appealing to thugs, because of the prestige, price and reputation (like Hondas) it has, and, the alarm stops after 2 minutes.

The only thing I could find wrong with this car was that the leather seats were cracking, which bugs if you're dressed for summer.

I think this Lexus is the most sleek, elegant and awesome car ever built, and it's design still looks up to date. It's authoritive look says move out, I've got a place to be or just a ride to impress!

THANK YOU TOYOTA-LEXUS DIVISION, FOR DESIGNING THE MOST SEXY CAR ON THE ROAD!!!
