2000 Lincoln LS from North America

Summary:

Lincoln LS garbage

Faults:

I love this car its spacious comfortable and I like the look.

But my entire control arm broke off on the highway while I was driving. I service my car and no one found out the lower ball joint nut kept backing off by itself. That a major problem I heard with the LS.

All my lug nuts a worn. I have to replace them. The head lights accumulate moisture or some condensation in the lights and makes it dim.

General Comments:

After all I think it's a piece of crop, will never buy another one.

I will stick to my HONDA ACCORD that I have over 14 year and all I did was Service it.

2000 Lincoln LS from North America

Summary:

Skip it

Faults:

Passenger brake light keeps going out.

Motor on passenger seat broken.

Cig lighter doesn't work.

Something in my passenger window is broken; it won't go up or down.

Trans light was on. Spent a lot of money trying to find the problem; estimate about $1,000. Now my airbag light is on.

Horn stopped working.

It misfires and jerks, and runs better on Shell gas 91 (most expensive), not Arco gas.

It ran hot and stalled. It was leaking something, so I got it towed. Stinky Lincoln.

General Comments:

Never again, Chevy time. Oh no, with gas prices, Honda time.

2000 Lincoln LS 3.9 V8 from North America

Summary:

Rage inducing turd

Faults:

If you are thinking of buying a Lincoln LS, save your pain and jump in front of a car, but make sure the car is not an LS because it will die before it gets there.

This is definitely the worst car I have ever owned. Here is why:

Car has been through 3 trannys in less than 30,000 miles.

Driver's side door handle cable came unhooked, so climbing over the center console every time I wanted to go somewhere was a real treat.

I replaced all valve cover gaskets because they were releasing oil into the spark plug holes and shorting out coil packs... also had to replace 8 coil packs.

I especially enjoyed hot air blowing out of the driver's side vent when it was 90, and cold air blowing on my girlfriend when it was the dead of winter.

Speaking of winter, do not expect to leave your home if it is snowing.

Sometimes the car's warning beep goes off just to embarrass me whenever I'm taking someone somewhere, and flashes a warning alert too fast to read what it is.

When going over speed bumps, the suspension knocks really hard.

General Comments:

Instead of buying a used LS, I should have bought a new Huffy.

2000 Lincoln LS V8 from North America

Summary:

I enjoy this car

Faults:

My air conditioning is blowing hot air intermittently. I took it in, the service people couldn't replicate the problem and told me I needed freon. They boosted it for $75 and two weeks later I had no air. The compressor was replaced, along with other part, at a cost to me of $1,500.00 and yesterday the hot air came pouring out of the passenger side vents. Does anyone know what is wrong because the mechanic is baffled???

General Comments:

I love this car, it has been good to me.

I have also replaced 4 of the coils as others, and the rear window driver side broke and was repaired by Lincoln dealership. Now I do not open the window.

I also have air bag light on, which is intermittent, but lately it's been on more than off. Is the car safe?
