I just purchased a used 2002 Lincoln LS yesterday and today the problems began! Fogged headlight, missing in the engine, front end is loose, while driving down the road it dies. It's funny how when I test drove this car 3 different times, none of this happened, but after driving it for a total of 6 all this crap happens! No Warranty!!! It's going to be a long journey!

I have 4 years with my Lincoln LS Sport package (I bought it for my mother, at this time it only has 52,000 miles) and I have suffered a lot of the problems you mention:

Front light fogged.

The stereo light doesn't not work (at night I have to guess where the buttons are).

I changed the rear view mirror.

I changed the valve gaskets about two years ago to prevent coil problems, but yesterday I noticed some problems, and I took it to the workshop and guess: two of the gaskets are out (160 with labor for each one).

Also I have changed two times the back window elevators.

I really like this car, but it is taking all my cash. I hope Ford did something with the new LSs.

I bought my 2000 LS (sport package) in 2002 with 38,000 miles on it. I have replaced two regulators, the transmission, and a coil. I was considering a Town Car next, but the letters spelling Town Car fall off the trunk while the cars are still on the lot. If something that obvious is so poorly crafted, what is waiting under the hood? I'm going to buy an Avalon or Camry.

I just bought a used 2001 Lincoln LS with 84,500 miles, and now the airbag light blinks for a few times then stays on. I am scared that it is going to cost me the little money I have to take care of my family. I tried dissassembled the 2 wire under the front drivers seat, but to no avail did any changes occur.

The check engine light came on so I took it with both problems to Auto Zone so they can use that little code reader and it read P0133. Something about a O2 sensor behind the catalyic converter. It was $49.00 or close to it, so I didn't buy it. When I left the check engine light never came back on, so I'm guessing the Auto Zone rep erased the light with the code reader, but it still never came on and that has been 2 weeks.

Now the seat memory is not working properly. I followed all the steps directly from the owners manual and only the steering wheel remembers the setting. I refuse to take it to a dealer because they are going to sting me up for way too much money. I need to find a Chilton repair manual so I can fix these problems as the arise.

The car is very prestigeous automobile as far as looks and interior goes, but I would definitely go straight to the manufacturer and personally fire the entire engineering and production department.

I found this site because my "Check Engine" light came on on my 2001 Lincoln LS V6. I have 47,653 miles and it is probably just a sensor or time for my 50,000 checkup. In defense of the LS I purchased my car in 2001 and have had no mechanical problems with the exception of the rear window regulator that others have mentioned. I have been perfectly happy with the performance and dependability. I keep all my cars at least 10 years and with 5 already down I plan to keep this car for a long time.

I am the newest member of the Lincoln LS dysfunction junction. It's a 2001 with 63000 miles - beautiful car sleek black, tan leather, great get up and go - makes me feel like a princess.

However - my pocket book says "sell it now": 2 window regulators replaced after hearing a shot, pop, hum and the window falling. Leaking windows (which ruined the passenger front speaker), the smell of buring oil with no warning light on (after reading this site must be my gasket covers), just plain quitting on the interstate access ramp at 45 mph. Headliner falling down - foggy headlights (I know join the crowd) - and oh my what about those lug nuts that get stripped out with each tire rotation to the tune of $9.00 each per rotation. Finally I just changed mine to regular old tool truck lugs $.99 each. Now should I have a flat I can at least change my own tire.

I am with the others who think visiting with an attorney would be wise - but I doubt Ill have this one long enough - Land Rover here I come.

^^^^^ Land Rover is also made by Ford. I would suggest something other than a crappy made FORD.

I just purchased a 2001 Lincoln LS V8 Sport Package on Friday August 25, 2006. When I saw the car I fell in love with it. I read all the reviews good and bad, but I bought the car anyway. The CD Player didn't work, but I said that's not too bad. Until Monday when the car was kicking extremley hard when I was changing gears. Then Tuesday my check transmission light when on. I guess I should've listen!!

I have owned a 2005 Lincoln LS for 7 months and in that time I've had a fuel tank, A/C replaced, alternator, serpentine belt, and engine replaced and it is in the shop right now for chirping noise. The only good thing is that if the check engine light comes on one more time they are going to replace my car. We will see how that goes. Also, I bought this car with only 100 miles on it. Well, I will keep everybody posted on what happens.

I'm thinking of purchasing a 2001 LS V6 with 62k miles on it.

I think I can get it down to $9k or so. They are asking $9600. I noticed it had the airbag light on constantly. The dealership service tech reset it, but it came back on.

I've been reading reviews and comments for hours and after I saw this site, I'm not so sure I should do this.

Anybody have good things to say about the LS or is this just a flawed car? I chose a V6 because I heard about transmission issues on the V8.

Please advise?

LS? in Seattle.

I recently purchased a 2000 LS, V6...and could kick myself in the rear! NOTHING, but trouble - I want my Honda back!

I've got a 2000 LS and its been kicking too! I thought it was an intermittent miss! Plugs wires you know? But after reading some of the comments it appears it may be the transmission.

I own a 2001 fully loaded pearl white Lincoln LS V8. I bought it in August with 96,500 miles on it, a bit high, but they were mostly highway miles. This is my first car, and I have not had any problems, other than engine noise. The previous owner told me that he had the engine and transmission replaced under warranty, and the mechanism that rolls down the windows was also replaced. The engine and transmission only have about 70,000 miles on them.

The guy I bought the car from was a jewelry dealer, and thus the car has locks and chains in the trunk, a bulletproof trunk, and an additional alarm system. The only problem I have had besides the engine noise (I'm pretty sure it's the serpentine belt) is the fact that the right headlight fogs up. I plan on putting black custom 20" rims on her, a sound system, custom grill, hid headlights, a lowering kit, Lamborghini doors, custom exhaust, and other engine modifications.

If you have any questions about Lincoln LSes or just want to talk cars feel free to contact me at my e-mail: Gota69StangMach1@hotmail.com or add me on msn messenger at that same address. In case you couldn't tell I also have a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 that my dad gave me that I'm currently restoring.
