1994 Mazda Protege SE review from Puerto Rico
"A high performance, cheap priced, easy upgraded, car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The only thing that went wrong with my car was the fuel pump. I changed it two times. The first time was when it has 50,000 miles, and when I went to th dealer to buy it, it was to expensive, so I just buy a replacement. The second time was at 105,000 miles and this time I get replacement, but with a lifetime warranty. The other thing was the crankshaft pulley, it's center rubber breaks and it was causing some electrical problems, but it was replaced and the car is still running like the first day.
General comments?
I have to admit that this is a car that when it breaks you have to search a lot to get some cheap prices on the parts, but it's a great ride and have a lot of power to play with. To the persons that say that there's no after market parts for this car, I just buy Intrax springs, KYB lowering struts, custom made an intake system with HKS filter, underdrive crankshaft pulley and yesterday I receive an short shifter from B&M. To find this parts you have to go the the online catalogs or go to any performance shops and if they don't have it, hey order it to you. Search well.
