Just to let the guy know about the C280 the body style of the car has been the same for many years. It changed in 2001 therefore to the guy about the comment above doesn't know anything about the mercedes line up at all. Why don't you actually go to the dealership and get one.

I own a 2000 Mercedes C280. Bought it in July of "06" with 58k. Have had no problems so far. Good acceleration, decent gas mileage, timeless Mercedes look.

All around a solid vehicle.

I purchased a 2000 C280 in November of 07. It had 48k miles. It is an excellent car - at least compared to the other cars I have owned. I don't like the climate control system. It seems to "mechanical". For instance, you can hear the vents close when you shut the heater off. It reminds me of the 70's.

Overall, it is an exceptional car. I highly recommend it.

I bought a 2000 C-280 in Feb 2007 with 105,000 miles and no maintenance paperwork from a dealer. You see all types of reports from good too bad about Mercedes but I just went with my gut instinct and bought this car. Initially, the car had one problem with the ignition infrared key, was replaced for around $300. I have been happily driving this car up and down mountains, downtown cities and highways with no problem for the past year and half now. Vehicle now has 114,000 miles and just rolls down the road. I really like the ride and solid feel of this car. Great all around vehicle, turns on a dime too! And for some added fun, I just purchased a 1987 560sl used with 104,000. My new weekend warrior in the sun ride.

Update 07-07-10: I now have 127,000 miles on this car and it is still running great. However, the speedo cluster has many electrical failures. You can no longer read any of the digital readouts like temp, gear, time, etc. I have gotten used to it and think there is a place that will fix it for about $350 if you pull the cluster and send it off. Otherwise, a nice ride for the highway and a good size for the city.

I got the cluster repaired for less than $150 with a lifetime warranty, by some place in the northeast of the US. The car has about 135000 now and still runs excellent. Super smooth ride. Happy owner.
