1995 Mitsubishi Galant S 2.4 from North America

Summary:

Poorly designed and built vehicle

Faults:

My transmission went out after the first week of owning it.

I had it repaired, but it still does not seem to work right all the time.

My brakes squeak whenever I put them on to stop.

I have had to replace one rear bushing and control arm and need to have the other one replaced.

I need to have an inner tie-rod replaced here soon.

I also seem to go through a lot of oil between oil changes. Nobody has been able to tell me why this happens.

General Comments:

I would not recommend this car to anyone.

I have had nothing but trouble with it since I bought it six months ago.

1995 Mitsubishi Galant Four door sedan ES 2.4L SFI from North America

Summary:

Do not buy Mitsubishi cars

Faults:

This car is horrible. It has got to be one of the worst cars ever built. The multi-link suspension that Mitsubishi raved about is a nightmarish abortion of unnecessary, unreliable, poorly made components.

The tie-rods have gone bad (inner and outer both sides).

The lower ball joints are under factory recall and the uppers should be, but are not.

This car is a rolling death trap. Do not buy Mitsubishi cars.

General Comments:

Mitsubishi is and has been under federal investigation for failure to change component design which can cause catastrophic failure. Add to that a conspiracy charge for the corporations efforts to hide brand wide defects.

Do Not Buy Mitsubishi Cars or Trucks.

You are undeniably correct!

Not true at all. You've just had bad luck! I have had three Mitsubishi Galant in the past 15 years without any failure. They're simply the best. They're now in the top three of most reliable cars. They rule!

Reliable and very cheap initial purchase price, running costs a little high but worth it!

Faults:

No problems.

General Comments:

Having owned the car for 2 years, I consider the £5000 it cost an excellent investment. A VERY reliable performer!
