2004 Nissan Maxima SE review from North America
"HORRIBLE"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
transmission @ 60000 miles
engine 72000 and still broke.
General comments?
If you have a 2004 Nissan Maxima SELL IT AS SOON AS YOU CAN!!! I bought my Maxima in 2003. At 60000 the transmission was replaced. It gets worse from there. I am a high mileage driver so I am at 105000 miles and I’m telling you it has been a nightmare. I had the extended warranty so a lot of problems I didn’t have to pay full value for.
The car was burning oil very quickly and had a grinding noise coming from the engine. I have my oil changes every 3000 miles at the dealership. It was burning oil and had a leak. First the dealership failed to correctly identify the problem. I was told it was an O ring. My engine has been torn down three times. From December 2006 until now this car had major ENGINE problems. It has been in the shop. I’m not sure if they know how to repair the engine and have refused to replace it.
The car runs well for 1000-3000 miles and back in the shop. PLEASE FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN AND THE NHSTA.GOV.
