1993 Pontiac Grand Am SE review from Puerto Rico
"Reliable Pontiac Grand AM SE"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Mainly replaced brakes, suspension, thermostat, radiator, tires, change coolant twice a year, change transmission fluid every 30K miles, change oil every 3,000 miles, change brake fluid every 75,000 miles, change power steering pump at every 80,000 miles, changed alternator, starter, maintain it by spraying CARB Cleaner spray into the manifold intake suction to clean out manifold, (stop hesitation, add gasoline cleaners into the gas tank every 2000 miles, keeps injectors clean and fuel filter. Wax it every week. Still running at 279K because since I first got the car, I did my own maintenance and all this pays off. I am not lazy because my car is not lazy neither, but if I become lazy, my car then becomes lazy and has a heart attack.
General comments?
This car since I first got, it has really been there for me when I need to start, and accelerate , and stop. This does well in cornering and at high speeds. It has really COLD A/C, and real smooth riding. I have added new seats and carpet and smells like new. The engine is very strong still & transmission, and very quiet, though not quiet when I first got it, but still quieter then those that have like 100K, like my brother's Pontiac.
