1995 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2L from North America

Summary:

The worst mistake of my life !!!

Faults:

Too many problems to list.

The battery was the only thing good with the car

General Comments:

Well to start off with heater fan motor went 2 months after I bought the car. Then there was this rattle in the muffler that was getting to be annoying. I took the car back to the dealer to have it looked at and after that was said and done I ended up leaving the dealer with the same annoying noise. The car worked fair for the next 3 and a half years even though it had a head gasket replaced! When I went to get it road inspected it cost me $1700.00!

The stero system in the car works ok , but forget about listening to an AM radio station because the Am stations do not come in (Fm stations do though). The clock built into the radio does not wook either and I am not about to have the entire dash ripped up for that!

I was a sucker and kept the car at that point. BIG MISTAKE!!!

I had to replace the Torque Converter switch, the fuel injectors started to leak, then I had to replace the wiper motor. The list goes on and on and on.

What does it mean to have the car road inspected? Never heard of it! You must have got ripped off, $1700 for getting it road inspected! I know I would never pay for that!

1995 Pontiac Sunfire SE 2.2L from North America

Summary:

Low cost, good looking, reliable; What else can you ask for?

Faults:

Clutch went out before I got it. It went out at about 95,000 miles.

Transmission is starting to go, but that's because the girl who had it before me didn't know how to shift correctly.

General Comments:

I highly recommend this car! It was my first, and I'm sure any first driver would love it.

It handles great! Really has some get up and go.

Very stylish.

When inside, you would think you were in a car twice its size. Very open feel.

The car is very nice looking, but once things start breaking it's all down hill. Although, I really like how it handles I would not recommend buying it.

Yes, I agree with you. Once the car started to have problem, everything went downhill. I have a 95' Sun-Fire GT, at 59K, the transmission has to be replaced. At 61K, replaced the brake. The body of the car seemed imbalance, but the mechanics never find the problem. At 70K, replaced the timing belt and AC broke, didn't repair the AC because the estimate was $1100. And now, at 80K, the cassette player does not work in summer and ruin my tape. The rear struts was having problems at around 75K, but I haven't replaced it yet.

1995 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2L from North America

Summary:

Well built vehicle

Faults:

Nothing only valve noise.

General Comments:

This is a very reliable car in my opinion. Many people as I can see had problems, but my car runs like new. The only thing I can possibly say is wrong with the car is that it does make a valve noise. Also many people say that pontiac's are bad cars well what I can say is that they are just as reliable as any other GM vehicles. Which I believe they make great cars. Also a car will run only as good as you take care of it. Always remember to change your oil at 3000 miles and check all the fluids and this car should last a very long time.
