"I love my 1995 Pontiac Sunfire"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

My head gasket has to be replaced about every two years.

A couple years ago my starter went out.

At 100,000 miles I had my spark plugs and my fuel filter replaced.

The strap around my muffler was recently replaced because it was rusted through.

The rear view mirror fell off, and I had to have it reattached.

My cassette player has been broken for years, and one of the speakers is busted.

The air conditioning compressor broke two years ago.

My wiper switch fell apart and had to be replaced.

General comments?

Overall, the things that have gone wrong with my car involve general maintenance or carelessness on my part.

The head gasket is a recall on the model Sunfire that I own, and although it is a bit annoying to have to spend out that much money to have it fixed, to me it is worth it, and it still costs a lot less than a car payment. Owning a car is very expensive, and mechanical work has to be done even on brand new cars.

I love my cat. It is very comfortable, dependable, and fuel efficient. I couldn't ask for a better car. It also has never stranded me except at home.

I wish they still made these cars, because I would get another one. I will keep this car even when I do purchase a new car, because I am certain I will never find a better, more reliable car.

General Motors/ Pontiac still do make the Pontiac Sunfire. It is just re-named to the G5.

Does it still use the same drive-train (motor/transmission)?

If it doesn't, it isn't still a Sunfire/Cavalier.

If it doesn't, it is a completely different car, that is why they changed the name.

Yes, it probably is what they replaced the Sunfire/Cavalier with.
