2003 Renault Clio Expression from Peru - Comments

"Happy camper"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

My Clio has, unfortunately, high gas consumption. It has a 1.6 liter engine, fairly powerful and fun, but compared to my previous car (which had the same size engine) it's not as fuel efficient.

Floor mat has a hole in it right below the gas pedal.

Rear suspension is rather soft and unstable. I hit a pot hole (something which is pretty common in Peru (and my left rear tire blew causing the car to slide an do a 180ยบ. It could handle better too.

Right front power window stopped working the second week of ownership.

General comments?

For starters, my Clio was built in Brazil.

It was a pretty good buy overall.

I live in Peru, and new cars are rather expensive, even bare bone models.

Yet the Clio was cheap with a good level of equipment, including two airbags, a Cd player, automatic doors and a couple of little things which would normally jack up the prize in other models.

I don't drive much, but I do like to get away from the grind of the city and it tackles difficult roads with ease. It could use better suspension, but then again the roads don't help.

I have to say that I'm pleased with the car.

The service, although a bit expensive, is very good.
