Wow...I'm not alone! my 1995 Saab V-6 automatic is my special car. $1600 later it is still stalling without warning while driving. It just started two months ago.

I have had the crank shaft sensor, an ignition coil replaced and a lot of labor hours later... and they have been checking the fuel system now... could it be the computer?

I don't know a thing about repairing this car. I did not take it to the dealer. Was that my first mistake? But I have taken it to two reputable mechanics in my city so far... It just stalls out going 30-45 miles an hour... not fun after a couple of close calls...

Mine stalls at start up. I have to push on the gas pedal for it not to quit again. Taking it in the second mechanic tomorrow and have him replace the crank sensor from what I have read on this page. My Saab mechanic told me today it has something to do with the transmission on its last legs.

It's a 1991 White Saab Turbo Convertible. The transmission feels good to me. I'll see what happens.

Mine seems just like the 8/26/08 post. I have a 1999 9-3 with 5-speed. It often stalls at idle, but restarts right away. It also doesn't want to idle for a couple minutes right after fillup. Just got back out of the shop, where in 2 days they couldn't get it to stall or even stumble, which it often does - it'll almost stall then rev up to 1500 for a few seconds. Of course, it stalled 4 times on the way home tonight.

I have 1995 V6 Convertible. It has started stalling. It stalls once a week. After 2 near crash misses following two of the many stalls, it's no more fun to drive. I will be seeing my dealer tomorrow, so I will keep you guys updated. Sometimes, it's difficult to get it started. Anyone knows what the problem might be?

You probably need to replace your fuel pump.

I just bought a 1994 Saab 900S 5 speed 2.3L engine. It stalled a few times while test driving, but after 10 minutes it ran smoothly for the next 30 minutes. So I bought it. On the way home it started stalling repeatedly. My mechanic advised me to use fuel injector cleaner and high octane gas. I haven't seen any improvement in the last week, and am losing faith that this will be a safe car. I'm going to ask my mechanic to clean the crank angle sensor. Where is it?

Hi, I have Saab 9000 2.3L year 1991 non turbo. In my car there is a engine misfire some times. I replaced the D.I.Cassette too. But still it has the problem. Sometimes it works fine. When you start the engine, it has the problem for some time and after that it works fine. Yes it's a comfortable car, but now it's a headache for me. Can somebody help me?

I'm from Darwin Australia.

I have a Saab 9000 CDE. When cold it is very hesitant on slight throttle and also on heavy throttle. Today it stalled while turning a corner at slow speed. Is this a similar issue to other people?

I'll clean the throttle body out tomorrow and change the fuel filter, but from reading these posts, I wonder if this will help.

Excuse me for being a noob, but why would the crank angle sensor cause stalling?
