2000 Saturn SL SL2 review from North America

This car has had many issues with it. Too many to list. The top one is: Squealing front brake problem since new, dealer has yet to resolve, related to this rusted brake calipers. Next, spacing in dashboard against gauges there is a big gap, dealer has yet to resolve, leaving a creaking sound from the dash every time you go over a bump. Molding strips have also had their problems. The Saturn Corp, gives you the round-about about repairs as does the corp headquarters. They think you know nothing about what is wrong, they tell you to take it in to the dealer to be looked at. The final answer it is the mechanic say within Saturn specs, that is BS. I know they have a lot of problems that they don't know how to resolve, all I can say is the SL series is being replaced at the end of this year with a new version, the Ion. To all my future car buyers, watch out for Saturn, take a good look before buying, check over the entire car, and see what you are really getting. Cars are getting more expensive and less quality is going into them, leaving the consumer with the buck to pay.

The 5speed manual is awful, the clutch is awful. You must give yourself at 4 thousand on the tach between gears to keep up with traffic. The seats are not comfortable. You sit to low, when exit it is very hard. Also if you turn the wheel a bit when shutting off the car and then try to restart it is next to impossible. I have had this problem on all my saturns.
