2006 Saturn VUE FWD V6 Redline 3.5L DOHC V6 from North America

Summary:

The 2006 Vue Redline is an awesome SUV

Faults:

Nothing to date.

General Comments:

We owned a 2003 Vue before with the ECOTEC L4 and the dreaded VTi transmission. Everything about the car was fine and had no problems, but the VTi or CVT transmission had issues. GM finally got rid of it, but I don't trust these transmissions from no matter where you buy them from, whether Honda, Toyota, Ford, Chrysler, Audi etc. I'd rather stick with a manual or regular automatic.

For 2006 the Saturn Vue got a facelift and other changes, especially the interior, which make it almost completely different than our 2003. We decided this time to get the V6 and Redline package. The Redline package involves sportier steering/suspension, larger tires, lowered chassis, exterior/interior enhancements. Overall it looks much more refined compared to our 2003.

The interior is especially an improvement. There are high quality materials and an interior that overall looks 1000x classier. If you had doubts about the Vue before, no worries now. Everything in the Vue has been tried and tested, especially the 4-Speed Automatic that replaced the VTi. The 5-Speed Automatic in our V6 shifts smooth and also is a lot more reliable than the VTi. Also, with the Redline package, you get secure and sports car like handling, which I could never say about our 2003.

Overall, I'm impressed with our new Vue and we definitely have no worries with this car, unlike our other one.

So the transmission on your '03 was not to be considered part of the car?

'When you disregard the failure of major components, the car was bulletproof!'

2006 Saturn VUE from North America

Summary:

This is fairly good value, though the estimated MPG should indicate the truth of the SUV

Faults:

Power rear view mirror driver's door stopped working.

Driver's door speaker makes a crackling noise.

Squeaks and rattles a bit from the dash from time to time.

Carpet soils easily and does not clean well.

General Comments:

Overall this SUV is great.

I am very disappointed in the fuel economy. Vue is estimated at between 23 to 29 highway. I average about 21.5 traveling about 70 to 78 miles an hour.

Saturn service is great. My dealership in Tallahasee is the best I have ever dealt with. I have owned Saab, Mercedes, Ford and BMW.

The seats are very comfortable, though my VUE lacks lumbar support.

My VUE did not come with ABS or $ wheel disk brakes, which I feel for a car that is 18K plus should come standard. In wet weather here in Florida, ABS comes in handy.

My partner states he loves the deep and firm fitting cup holders, as well as all the storage places.

2006 Saturn VUE 3.5 V6 from North America

Summary:

I am very satisfied, design and performance

Faults:

Nothing, the car is perfect so far!

General Comments:

I can't understand why I don't see many Saturn suv's!

The style is refreshing and new, the price is way below other comparable suv's on the market. It has the Honda V6 engine and transmission! At 250 hp it is quick and smooth.

The comfort is excellent and the interior is inviting. The mileage is great so far! It is one of the highest rated!

The reclining seats split 70/30 is great!

The only thing I see missing is hand rails on the top of the windows to hold on.

I just have it a short while, but I am looking forward to many great comfortable miles.

2006 Saturn VUE 3.5L V6 from North America

Summary:

Great SUV for the price. Definitely test drive one!

Faults:

No problems, only had it a few weeks.

General Comments:

Overall great SUV, lots of power, very good gas mileage, nice looking inside & out. Dealer was great.

Center console could be bigger, and would prefer the fake wood were silver like in the 4 cylinder models, but very minor issues. Overall very happy with everything so far.

Very nice auto with well designed leather interior and well placed controls. I like it better than my previous Forester except the V6 is not as good on gas. However, it is easier to drive on long trips and more fun to drive.
