Maybe I got a good one! '09 LE, bought new in '08, traded at 128K = not a problem, lots of passengers who commented on its comfort, etc. Nothing of the sort noted here. Traded for more of the same... and I'm NOT into S&M!

... and here we go again with the exact same "overated" comments...

My family has owned Toyotas. To say they are in any way better than a domestic would be an exaggeration. Although the Toyotas were good cars, they certainly were no better than any of our domestics.

The fact that the Ford Focus was top rated by these magazines is reason enough for me not to trust their opinions on anything.

Yeah... better just trust your own opinions.

And let us know how that works out for you.

There’s better rides with more features and far more comfort. But if it’s only cheap and only about dollars, it will get you A to B. You get what you pay for too; quality of life vs just make it someplace.

I found it funny how not long ago everybody was "Corolla is the best car in the world" and now everybody is "Corolla is the worst tin can ever". Looks like people just want to be part of the trend. The Corolla models from 87-95 were very problem free, then the build quality went down for a few years, including engine problems with oil consumption and so on. And people still kept saying it was the best car in the world. And now a few people complained about the seat comfort and everyone started raging about how bad the car is, how much plastic and so on. In reality, the 06-12 models were not bad at all, the seats were fine, the engine had nice acceleration for the size, the cabin was fine too. Of course there's a lot of plastic, but it wasn't bad plastic like people say. Perhaps people thought a Corolla must be like a Lexus these days and had unrealistic expectations.

What's the difference between "bad plastic" compared to good plastic?

It is weird how that online herd mentality works. I've tried both old and new Camrys, including a few rare first generation models.

The newer Camrys are safer and faster, yet they're stupidly hard to get in and out of. They're too low and wide, a bit like a 2003 Grand Prix.

That’s why so many crossovers are sold today. Easy entry, more room, decent MPG. Yet small.
