1993 Toyota Pickup Deluxe review from North America
"A quality, good purchase"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Factory head gasket let loose at 65,000 miles.
Factory bad heater fan, have replaced the switch 3 times, really need a new fan and to replace the switch once more.
OEM battery finally gave out at 8 3/4 years and 188,000 miles.
Had a second OEM head gasket replacement at 150,000. (until '95, stock head gaskets were weak on #6 cylinder).
Needed a valve job at 150,000 miles, but I think that was a ploy by Toyota as my truck didn't run bad when I took it in, I just wanted the bad OEM gaskets replaced.
General comments?
Outstanding truck!
Handles well and the power to weight ratio is good.
Still on OEM brakes (need to be changed finally) at 190,000 miles (highway miles).
Minimal problems if you could even call them that.
Would like to see better than 18 mpg though.
