1996 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo V6 Twin Turbo from North America

Summary:

Great all around car, best sports car ever

Faults:

Regular oil change and repairs.

Sunroof had a small leak.

General Comments:

Awesome car to drive, and very fast.

Comfortable seats.

Great for racing - beat Camaros, Mustangs, Corvettes, and a few Porsche 911's very easily.

I will never buy an American made car again.

Handles very well.

Has 400 horsepower with a turbo upgrade.

Twin Turbo Supra will take a Z28 no problem. SS is a little hard.

That's if the SS doesn't break down.

A 400HP Twin turbo Toyota Supra would whoop the crap out of a Camaro, now I live in Australia and our HSV VX GTS (300kW!) absolutely annihilates the Camaro and I have seen many Supra's easily out drag the GTS, so if they can do that then going against a basic piece of machinery like a Camaro would be no mean feat for the Japanese marvel.

Secondly.. I give credit to the guys and gals who put time into the Supra, this car, when done up, can take on high performance Ferrari's and win! Afterwards it will not cost an arm and a leg to replace parts. The retail on a twin turbo Supra is a lot, lot less than a high performance sports car such as a Porsche or Ferrari.

Faults:

I bought the car three months ago (used obviously). Immediately I have noticed a rattle from the dash - could be the passenger airbag. The clutch is very squeaky and the gear change seems notchy. Other than that the car is fine. The dealer says he will fix all these faults at the first service (which is free).

General Comments:

Great performance, quiet (for a performance car), good brakes, great looks. Overall I have no real complaints, apart from the fuel consumption. Whilst driving around town the car seems to absolutely guzzle petrol.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Hilarious old review. Complains about fuel consumption on a 1990's sports car!
