2002 Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A great car for the money

Faults:

Drivers door seal leaks.

Front windscreen washer jets failed.

Was supposed to have delivery on October 1st, finally got the car on the 3rd and NOT on the delivery truck as promised.

General Comments:

Very comfortable and sporty car for the money.

Cheap to run with great acceleration.

2002 Vauxhall Corsa Elegance 1.4i from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A good car that is fun to drive and cheap to run

Faults:

Only problem with car was when returning from 2 weeks holiday the engine took 5 minutes to start.

Apart from that it is a very good runner.

General Comments:

Engine is good and pulls away quite well.

Quite fun to drive with good adjustable seating position.

Good spacious interior with nice seats and good climate control.

Electric windows and remote central locking included (something not fitted on VW for same price).

Fuel economy is not bad and running costs are quite low.

Stereo and speakers is pretty poor which is my only real complaint.

Not bad looking, although a little girly :-)

2002 Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2i 16v petrol from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A very satisfying purchase that I don't regret

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

The car has great looks, is comfortable, smooth and it handles like a dream.

However, I have found its fuel consumption in urban driving can be quite high.

Hi there. I have a 2002 1200cc Corsa C SXi with 134,000 miles on clock, and roughly get around 65/70 miles to £10.00 urban and 75 miles on a long run.

2002 Vauxhall Corsa Club 1.0 12v from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A massive letdown. AVOID!

Faults:

The rear wash wipe stopped working.

General Comments:

This was a hire car replacing my own KA which was in being repaired.

I used to have a Nova and I was expecting a lot from this car. I cann honestly say I was very disappointed with it. The 1.0 12v engine gives a pleasant engine note, but absolutely no power.

No space in the front, I'm 6ft3 and my knees rubbed off the steering wheel.

Good point is the steering is light and also that the fuel consumption is excellent. However, everything else is a letdown.

Hi mate, I see you are not happy with the Corsa 1000cc's performance. I have owned a 2002 1200cc Corsa C SXi with 134 000 miles on clock. I find 1200cc SXi is a stronger engine with better performance and i get 65/70 miles per £10.00 urban and 75 miles on a long run. The Corsa 1000 is on a cam chain. The 1200cc is on a cam belt; when cam chain wears they sound like they are going to self destruct.

2002 Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A great looker that does everything well

Faults:

No faults to date.

General Comments:

Car looks fantastic in black and it's excellent value.

Handling is spot on, but the electric power steering takes a few miles to get used to.

The 1.2 16v is a little underpowered, but that's all I would change.

2002 Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2 16v from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A boy racer's first car

Faults:

When I bought my car in June 2002, there were a few problems before I had even drove it of the forecourt.

For a start there was a rip in the passenger seat and the clutch was creaking heavily.

But they had it all fixed within a matter of days.

Although it took away the point of a new car.

General Comments:

All in all the Corsa is a quick car, Considering it has a 1.2 liter engine.

The car makes you feel you are in a sports car, with the bucket style seats to back that up.

Other extras include.

White dials, electric mirrors, cd player which by the way is surrounded in a metal-style finish along with the handbrake and gear knob.

The speakers in the car are well laid out and this provides excellent sound quality and bass. Which might I add was well needed in the old Corsa.

The sxi comes with eps which stands for electric power steering. Its hard to get used to a first, but with practice you will be soon taking corners like there is no tomorrow. As the Chassis is designed with the boy racer at heart. Which I am proud to say I am.
