Overall, not too many things have gone wrong with the vehicle. Keeping up with regular maintenance seems to be the key.
I have had problems recently with the fuel pump failing, but well past 150,000 miles.
I also have had to replace the radiator and water-pump at 175,000 miles. Not a big deal considering the mileage.
The speakers are starting to buzz a lot with age.
I have rebuilt the suspension recently due to normal wear. Parts are easy to find and inexpensive.
Overall, this has been one of the most dependable vehicles I have ever owned. I will not hesitate to drive it for another 100,000 miles.
The comfort level of the truck is still pretty good considering the age.
Parts are easy to find for repairs. I would recommend one of these trucks to anyone.
The truck still uses no oil and does not have any external leaks of any kind.
Engine performance is still very powerful and gas mileage is still around 20 mpg even after 13 years and 192,000 miles.
The four wheel drive is dependable and predictable.
Hello, I own a 90 Larado 4wdr also. This Jeep has 240+ klms ,but is running strong... after replacing cooling system, alternator (recently). The one problem I do have, is a large quantity of oil entering the air box- via the crankcase breather tube. This soaks the air filter. I have been told this might be due to " blow-by " (?). There is not a conventional PVC valve on the jeep... just a small diameter tube into the intake (vacuumed). This tube does not seem to be big enough for the volume of vapor. This is my only major beef, otherwise a real tough vehicle-- truly "bullet proof".
