I was just wondering if you had the swirl valves done, as I've got an 06 plate with the same problems. Just ordered a pipe at cost of 100 pounds.

Thanks, Craig.

Thank for your help, I took my Signum 3.0 CDTi to my local garage, they plugged it into the machine, and it said swirl flap/valve stuck open. Also DPF flagged up. He told me I am looking at about £800+. I thought there may be a cheaper solution, so did a search, and thanks to you I have found the problem, it was the intercooler top hose split. I have replaced it now for £36 for an after market hose. I then returned to the garage to have the car plugged in again and reset, job done. What a result, I was thinking about selling the car at a loss, as I could not afford to spend £1000 on repairs.

Many thanks for all your help, I cannot thank you enough.

Best regards John from Manchester.

Could you tell me where you got the aftermarket top hose from? Do you have the link? I also have the same problem.

I might be well out of date here.

I have owned a Vectra C estate 07 3 litre V6 Elite, auto, since 12k miles and 18 months old.

It has been perfect until now, 2015, 135K on the clock. Just normal servicing and the odd hose, tyres and disks (a bit heavy front end braking). Even the cat is still okay.

Now, idle changes if you have your foot on the brake or not.

Going up gears, there is juddering and sometimes no selection, may rev to 3500 before changing, certainly no power at the time. Changing to manual helps, but not all time, and then it will not go into 6th even at close to 70mph (on manual).

It started a month ago, in a cold spell, and does not seem to happen when warmed up.

Now happens most days, only of course not on the day it was serviced a week ago, the engineer did not find any problems, even though the light came on and they cleared all faults? It was okay for a week, and now it's started all over again.

A mechanic friend has suggested an additive to the gearbox that cleans and coats it with a Teflon finish, which may help.

Any advice will be well received.
