1994 Ford Explorer XLT review from North America
"Unreliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Transmission replaced at 90,000 miles.
Automatic 4x4 hubs failed, replaced with manual locking hubs.
Radiator tank cracked, radiator replaced.
Tires recalled.
Drivers side power window failed.
Lift-gate fell off and was recalled/replaced.
Cruise control does not always work.
General comments?
The Explorer is a bit top-heavy and is clumsy.
Under-inflating tires to improve ride will cause Firestone tire blowouts.
The Explorer eats gas.
A foreign car would probably be more reliable.
