1998 Dodge Neon Sport 2 door review from North America
"A hole in the ground to throw money in"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 60,000, my head gasket started leaking oil. They replaced it with warranty, however it still cost me $140 to fix.
After that the block heater blew out of it, $300.
The engine was then running rough, they said new plugs wire and high pressure injection purge, aswell as new coil pack.-$600, did absolutely nothing to fix problem.
Ended up being the intake manifold gasket not installed right, and seating itself between the valve and valve seat, causing a dime size hole in valve.
No cost to Chrysler, $1200 to me though.
Oil pan rusted out, needs new exhaust manifold, new struts/shocks.
General comments?
This car is a lemon.
Chrysler doesn't believe it should last that long because their attitude is you get what you pay for.
Don't buy a neon.
