1994 Chevrolet Blazer S10 review from North America
"An excellent and comfortable everyday ride that can serve many purposes"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The alternator went at about one hundred and fifty two thousand miles, however it didn't stop working completely, it just produced a low voltage on the gage. This cost sixty-nine dollars for the part.
Front brakes went at about one hundred and sixty, then after new one were put on a caliper was sticking shortly after, which wore the pad on the driver side down to nothing. It need new pads, rotor, and caliper on the driver side. It cost about fifty dollars for everything.
The serpentine belt replaced at one seventy because I was taking a trip to Maine with it. A transmission cooler was also added at the same time.
The water pump went at one seventy-five and it cost thirty-five dollars for a new one. It did not supply lock washers for the pulley and clutch fan so it pulled out shortly after and ruined the new serpentine belt.
The fuel pump went twice within two months, and it cost thirty-nine dollars the first time.
Just recently the central port injection unit broke also, and the new part cost 300 dollars, which after it was installed, leaked gas and almost blew the entire truck up. The replacement part is only going to cost 150 dollars.
The cap, rotor, plugs, and plug wires have all been replaced at the same time as the central port injection. They cost about 50 dollars for everything.
All prices are parts only because all work done on my truck is done by me.
General comments?
Overall I am very happy with my truck, over the last summer it has taken me to Maine will towing six canoes on a trailer, New York for a festival, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The truck also was used as a pizza delivery vehicle and brings me back and forth 40 miles each way to school. It is an excellent and comfortable every day vehicle.
The two wheel drive allows the truck to ride smooth.
The electronic transmission shifts way to smooth and won't allow you to chirp second.
The ABS are fine until it snows.
A very quick and powerful vehicle for a V-6.
The truck will be a lot more powerful and fun when the supercharger and lowering package are installed in the near future.
