1988 Citroen AX 11 RE review from Portugal
"The car I'll miss the most"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine wise speaking absolutely nothing went wrong!
Dashboard continues its decomposition. Honestly I don't know what's still holding it together...
Driver seat broke.
General comments?
It's absolutely amazing how this car is still going after I've done to it. I use it mainly in high way, always pushing it to the limit. Only has 4 gear manual transmission and still it reaches 160 km/h without much effort.
Fuel consumption is amazingly low (5.5 ltr per 100km, if not pushed to the limit).
Comfort is excellent and even though seats are fragile, they help a lot.
Road holding is great. I often forget that it's fited with the tire size recomended by Citroen: 135/80 R13.
The structure seems pretty solid, but interiors are extremely poor quality wise. Only door fittings seem solid.
Quite spacious for a 5 door 3.5m car.
Overall opinion: if you're looking for a very cheap car to run, cheap to buy, incredibly fast a safe on road, this is it!
