1987 Toyota Camry 2000 Gli review from Switzerland
"Strong reliable and affordable performance car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Electric radio antenna does not fully retract.
General comments?
Somewhat noisy over 4000 rpm.
Long course gear lever giving a very similar feeling to what you got in the British or Italian sport's car of the 6O's.
Very good road handling and balance.
Excellent performance if using high rev driving.
Despite its age this car looks great with an immaculate silver blue body and a very good looking interior.
Despite the fact that it is a front wheel drive, its handling reminds me my former Alfa Romeo's and BMW which I used to drive in the 60's and 70's.
A great car in good condition bought for almost nothing (approx. 2'000 U$) which compares with todays very expensive "toys".
After 44 years of driving, one of the best car I ever had.
