1999 Ford Taurus SE review from North America
"I would not own another Ford Taurus SE"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I already submitted one commentary, but I forgot to add a couple of items. Boy the list is getting longer:
Transmission problems at under 10,000 miles, Dealership took care of problem.
O/D Off light indicator coming on.
Brake light indicator coming on, brakes squeaking.
Heater does not work properly in winter, takes 20+ minutes to warm up.
Speedometer quit working yesterday.
Service engine light coming on, oil changes and maintenance have been completed religiously every 3000 miles.
Car speeds up, slows down on own-engine? transmission...It's going to the dealership tomorrow.
New tires had to be put on under 30,000 miles even though had been rotated, balanced and front end aligned as needed.
Gas mileage: 12-14mpg - not so great huh?
Fuel indicator only shows 1/2 full even when tank has been completely filled. I never know how much gas I have in it.
Since speedometer quite working, now my odometer has quit working.
Good Points: Car looks great, is very comfortable, stereo sounds great. However, this doesn't make for much of a safe family car when you have two boys 7yrs and 12yrs. I was nervous driving 2 miles to the theater today with them, afraid it was going to break down.
