1997 Ford Thunderbird LX sport review from North America
"A more comfortable mustang V8 with IRS that will cruise all day!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Unlike some of the people here I have had no weird maladies with the cars engine. It has been absolutely bulletproof. The whole drivetrain has held together excellent. The only problem that has come about is that I cannot get this weird vibration out of the front end that comes about from 58mph to about 70. Pretty much this keeps me breaking the law the whole time I drive it. Which is OK by me as I love driving it fast. I have experienced none of the other problems that other people have here and that makes me a lucky one I guess.
General comments?
The car is excellent especially in straight line performance (in its class). I had it in Germany for 2 years with me (I'm in the military) and it will cruise all day at 120 (it had a factory limiter at 105 but Superchips. com took care of that). Also I will highly recommend to anyone a "standard" set of 4.6 bolt-ons. Chip, pulleys, exhaust, intake, plugs, and wires. It really wakes up the car. I changed my rotors out to cross drilled (a few more dollars than the stock replacement) and it is MUCH better at braking! If you got any other suggestions or comments please email me.
