1991 Peugeot 205 1.1 STYLE review from UK and Ireland
"As I say, what more could you expect from a 1.1L engine??"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Spark Plugs Worn out. I found this out when I had bought the car.
Rear Breaks need replacing. I suppose that is nothing drastically wrong concidering the mileage. (as the handbreak didn't hold the car.
Rear light blew a few days ago.
I think my roof is leeking :s.
General comments?
I have to say, out of 4 gears, 2 accellerates the best. You wouldn't tell it's a 1.1. Its faster than a 1.1 106.
Unfortunatly, the seats are very flat and offer no support when taking corners at reasonable spead. You tend to slide about. (minor problem)
The car is very spacious. Its much bigger on the inside than it looks. My dad says he has adaquet room. (He's 6"7)
It stears beautifully, I have had no understeer whatsoever. A bit of over steer... but that can only be a good thing!;)
Unfortunatly, it does have low MPG at speeds of 75-80 mph.
It barely goes 90mph top speed, and revs quite (i wouldn't know exactly as I don't have a RPM counter (and I'm sure I wouldn't want want to know how high it revs) ) at 70 MPH... id estimate 4500-5000RPM.
The engine is very easy to work on. This car is very hard to modify (performance wise) due to age. Its not fule injected.
This is a great first car, its fast, spacious, cheap to run and cheap TAX... what more could you want out of a 1.1???
