2000 Chrysler Intrepid review from North America
"Good value for size, comfort and handling"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The rear passenger door lock has now gone bad twice. The first time it was under the manufactures warranty. I have not corrected the second occurrence as of now. The lock makes a screaming noise when the door is locked by the driver or when the automatic lock operates at 5 mph. this is enough to startle those not expecting this to happen. Once locked the door cannot be automatically unlocked nor manually unlocked it requires both operations to unlock the door.
The air conditioner will blow very hot air when first started and when changing venting positions it seems to be a problem with the damper sticking after a period of up to one minute it corrects itself. Have not had it corrected, I would rather put up with the problem than shell out the money, this started the spring of 2005.
General comments?
I like the ride and the look of the car and buy US maufacturers now that I can afford to. When I was younger I purchased three new Toyota cars over the years with only one service issue. Wish my Dodge was as trouble free.
