2002 Audi A4 1.8T quattro review from North America

Check engine light 6 times. Would come on again right after driving away from the dealer after supposedly fixing it.

Muffler needed re-welding.

Brake lights keep blowing out. Has happened two or three times.

Radio stops working, first they said it was a fuse, then they confessed that the radio had to be recalled and replaced. radio stopped working three times.

Horn stops working (driver side). This has broken twice.

Sun roof does not close properly, gets stuck open or it gets stuck while closing. This has happened intermittently even thought the shop said they fixed it.

Seat heating switch gets stuck and can't turn it.

Power windows sometimes open when you push the button to close them.

Windshield wiper blades had paint peeling off.

Left signal light burnt out several times.

Wipers would go halfway and then stop. Frame seized, wipers torn.

Cup holder does not spring back.

Oil leak from cam shaft adjuster seals.

Wipers torn again.

Speakers on passenger and driver door crackling and cutting in and out needed wire cleaning.

Compass on mirror not reading properly or very slow response.

Nice looking car, nice to sit in, the controls are all in the right and comfortable places for my size. However, many problems right from the very first day of purchase. The car is in the dealership at least once every two months on average. Many problems are repeats and the service center keeps fixing them, but not solving the problems. During the warranty period the service center just keeps fixing the car, but the same problems keep coming back.
